Adam’s Recovery 10

Adam's Daily StoryADAM’S JOURNEY ON RECOVERY ROAD.

Once again I have been slacking on the blogging but TOCCA Life has just been so good lately that I have been sidetracked. The past few days have been quite good. As far as the house goes, myself and the other two that have been here the longest have been given a little more responsibility now. Since the resident manager no longer works here, we will be sharing the duties of resident manager like making sure people are getting up and going out to find jobs, keeping the house clean, and making it home by curfew, among other things. Its nice to be trusted with responsibility, especially now that I have been at the house the longest.

I was able to get an old friend from back home TOCCA Life financing so he could get into the house the other day and he is doing well. He just got a job today.

We are back to a full house again. I am still gauging the other two. One seems OK, the other may be gone soon if he doesn’t do what he is supposed to.

Today was awesome. Patrick took myself and a house mate out on his boat and we went fishing.

It was a blast! We almost caught two sailfish but didn’t end up getting them in.

They got away from us but it was just a great time.

They Caught some last week though.

I am still working at the ice cream shop and poised to get more hours very soon.

This week is Thanksgiving. I miss my family but they are all proud of me and happy that I am down here and clean and sober. I am going with a housemate or two to my church to eat Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday so we won’t have to eat alone. That’s a blessing. This whole experience and change in lifestyle is a blessing.

“TOCCA House has really saved my life”.

Good that you followed up Adam… try writing examples of what you learn from your sponsor and how you applied or saw them applied each day… time to step it up and talk the talk while you’re walking it… it will help others.

ie. “Can’t keep it if you don’t give it away.” Serenity Prayer, Step 1, 2 or 3 maybe??
